Terence
McKenna linked the I Ching to 2012

was a White Lunar Wind (challenge to communicate spirit)
Terence
McKenna using computer technolgy and the I Ching came up with
an
end date for this world at
11:10
pm Dec 22 2012.
Here
are some of his quotes about time:
Our
planet is on a collision course with something that we, at our
present state of knowledge, dont have a word for. A black
hole is simply a gravitationally massive object, so massive that
no light can leave it. What Im talking about is something
like that, except that it isnt so much gravitationally massive
as temporally massive. We are soon to be sucked into the body
of eternity. My model points to 11:18 am, Greenwich Mean Time,
December 21, 2012 AD.
I
submit to you and to the world for your examination and critiquing
the fact that yes, the time wave with its end point December
21, 2012, describes with as great an accuracy as I am able to
discern the actual vicissitudes of novelty and habit in history
and natural history ... thats the claim
Terence
McKenna Timewave Zero
Time,
like light, may best be described as a union of opposites. Time
may be both wave and, ultimately, particle, each in some sense
a reflection of the other. The same holographic properties that
have long been an accepted part of the phenomenon of the perception
of three-dimensional space also suggest that interference patterns
are characteristic of process. Living beings especially illustrate
this: They are an instance of the superimposition of many different
chemical waves, waves of gene expression and of gene inhibition,
waves of energy release and energy consumption forming the standing
wave interference patterns characteristic of life.
Understanding
the Novelty of Time
We
are on a collision course with an event for which there is barely
language to describe. I would like to suggest that what is happening
on this planet is that time is actually speeding up. Our species
is under the influence of a kind of strange attractor which is
moving us through the temporal medium at an ever-accelerating
rate. This is a law of the universe, though not one recognized
by science.

The
I Ching

The
I Ching is an ancient divinatory system based on 8 hexagrams and
where it comes from nobody really knows.
It
is known that it was developed by Emperors and later
Confusicus himself improved upon it. The people of the West first
noticed it when Richard
Wilheim translated into German and English. It was then endorsed
my C.G. Jung who
was excited about its links with his theories of synchonicity.
Today, Jose Arguiilles
author of the Mayan Factor, regards it as revelant today as it
was 5,000 years ago.
The
I Ching is translated as meaning The Book of Changes.
To
consult the book of changes, you must ask your question and then
throw down your
yarrow stalks. Today it is more common to use three coins as they
are easier to come by.
When
you throw down three coins you end up with combinations that are
translated
into lines. For instance, 1 head and 2 tails result in a Yang
line which is unbroken ____.
2 heads and 1 tail and you get a Yin line __ __ (broken line).
If
you throw down your coins 3 times you can end up with a possible
8 different
trigrams. This are the basic building blocks of the I Ching. However,
in the I Ching you
must throw your coins 6 times until you have two trigrams. Any
two trigrams
combined can result in 64 different hexagrams. It is these 64
different hexagrams each
with a different message which makes up the Book of Changes
