Red
Serpent
The
Red Serpent is the 5th glyph of the Tzolkin and key
words associated with it are life force, instinct
and kundalini`. The serpent is a sacred creature in many
cultures. It is a symbol of healing because of the ability to
shed its own skin . The eyes of the serpent glaze over giving
it a trance-like appearance. This symbolises the need to go through
a similar process, in order to be healed. When the serpent emerges
from it`s old skin it is re- newed as if reborn. But he only achieves
a new life by going through a transformational process first.
We can all use serpent medicine to aid our own healing by entering
a state of consciuosness, which is altered from our normal state..
The serpent is also symbol for the base chakra, the kundalini.
It is said there is a coiled serpent lying at the base of our
spine .Enlightenment is reached when the serpent uncoils stretching
to the crown chakra This represents that enlightenment can be
achieved only when we have fully connected ourselves here on earth
via our base chakra with our crown chakra (the heavens)

To
the Maya the serpent was a god known as Quetzalcoatl, the feathered
serpent. It is interesting that these people who lived by a natural
cycle of a moon calendar, choose a feathered serpent as a god.
If you could see a smoke trail behind the moon as it orbits around
us, like a jet plane, you would see the pattern that it made looks
like a snake in the sand. The Maya would have noticed this and
perhaps it is not a coincedence that what they saw as a snake
in the sky , the god Quetzalcoatl, was in fact a way of explaining,
that timing is important. This connects the serpent to the moon
but the serpent also has a connection to the earth. For no creature
has a closer connection to the earth, as it crawls on its
belly. People born on Red Serpent days would do well to copy the
serpent and from time to time, shed their old skin and emerge
re newed.. Because the serpent is associated with the base chakra,
the kundalini, quite often Red Serpents can be sex obessed.
This just shows that they have a lot of personal power but because
there isnt a connection between the crown chakra and the
base chakra all that energy is focusing simply in the lower regions
.
Red Serpents need to find the balance and make that connection
happen between heaven and the earth.
All
Red Serpent people have in common in their birth charts the same
occult, challenge and like-minded glyphs.
The only difference being the guide, which is decided according
to the number. (see chart below)
The
challenge of the Red Serpent is the Blue
Eagle. This glyph symbolises creativity and vision. as well
as `seeing things from a higher perspective` ,as the eagle does.
This poses an interesting challenge for Red Serpent as the serpent
must remember to uncoil and reach the crown chakra to find enlightenment
If they flew like an eagle from time to time and saw what was
going on all around them not just from the point of view of being
grounded on this earth , then the Red Serpents may gain a more
rounded and objective view of their own reality. Red Serpent people
should focus on creative things which will help them be in their
minds more and their bodies less.
The
occult power of the Red Serpent is the Yellow
Warrior. This glyph represents questing and intelligence.
The occult glyph is the glyph that symbolises your personal magical
power, the ace up your sleeve, the gift that has been giving to
you to enable you to successfully complete your mission here on
earth To have Yellow Warrior in the occult position means that
the kind of quest that you are own is the quest to find magic
. You make a good knight of the round table. To have a quest is
all you need to focus your mind on something positive.
The
like-minded glyph for the Red Serpent is the White
Wizard. The like-minded glyph is the other glyph in the Tzolkin
that has more in common with you than any other. White Wizard
represents enchantment and whenever you meet someone born on a
White Wizard day youll find that you naturally connect.

If
you are born on a number one (magnetic)
or a number six (rhythmic) or a number eleven
(spectral) day, then you are guided
by
Red Serpent or another way of saying it is that you are
guided by your own power doubled. People who are guided
by themselves tend to be quite stubborn, resourceful and very
self-reliant. This can lead to problems at times however, as it
can be frustrating when you really need an answer.
If
you are born on a number two (lunar)
or a number seven (resonant) or a number twelve
(crystal) day then you are guided
by the
Red Earth. This glyph represents
evolution , synchroncity and navigation. To be guided by Red Earth
indicates that you are the kind of Red Serpent whose motivation
is to evolve . Never satisfied with staying in the same space
or in the same job or home, you always think it can get better
and that you can become a better person Spend as much time as
you can with Mother earth ,visit your favourite beauty spots more
often honour that connection that you have with the earth for
it will empower you and make you feel strong especially at times
when things seem intense.
If
you`re number three (electric) or a
number eight (galactic) or a number thirteen
(cosmic) then you are guided by the
Red Moon. This glyph symbolises universal
water and purification. Going with the flow is the
key phrase that summaries this glyph. To have this as guide implies
you only function well if you can relax, trust the universe and
go with that flow.
If
you are number four (self existing)
or a number nine (solar) then you are guided
by the Red Dragon. This glyph symbolises
nurturing and birth. As a Red Serpent you have natural healing
abilities if you are also guided by the Red Dragon. The nurturer
of the Tzolkin, then you will find any occupation involved with
caring for others or taking care of the planet, very rewarding.
If
you are a number five (overtone) or
number ten (planetary) then you are
guided by the Red Skywalker.
This glyph represents courage and exploring. Red Skywalker are
always up for trying new ideas and if this is the the glyph that
guides you then this brings a lot of adventure into your life.
Note
: if you Red Solar Serpent or Red Resonant Serpent then you are
born on a Portal day. To find out how this affects you check out
the Portal day page.
Also
it is important to understand how the wavespell you are born in
influence your chart. See the wavespell
page for more in depth information.
