Red Dragon

People born on Red Dragon days have the characteristics associated with that glyph which are ‘nurturing’ and ‘birth’. The Maya called this glyph ‘Imix’ and it is the first glyph of the Tzolkin. This means that every 20 days we have a Red Dragon day. Dragons are mythical creatures found in folklore in many parts of the world. The Chinese respect dragon as one of the twelve sacred animals. When Buddha summoned all the creatures to a party in his honour only twelve animals attended. Buddha in their honour gave them each a year to preside over. In Celtic lore as well Mayan, Dragon symbolises the Mother Earth. Dragons breathe fire, as so does the earth with her volcanoes and powerful earthquakes. Caves are symbols of her womb and this is why the Maya attributed Red Dragon with the key word ‘birth’. People born on these days need to go to their favourite beauty spots more often, and ‘be at one with nature’, as it will strengthen them and heal. It is interesting that they also called dragons ‘nurturers’.
Is not Mother Earth provider of everything we need?

The Red Dragon is challenged by the Blue Monkey. What this means is that for every glyph there is a challenge glyph. This is found by adding or deducting the number 10. This method locates the glyph that is furthest from your own on the Tzolkin which is why it is a challenge.
However a challenge is not a negative thing, but something that will strengthen
you if you can strive to overcome it.
For Red Dragon to have a challenge of Blue Monkey proposes an interesting situation. Blue Monkey represents magic, play and illusion. To have this as challenge suggest that Red Dragon people either find Magic a challenge or they may suffer from illusion. To understand the meaning of Blue Monkey in greater detail check out the Blue Monkey birth chart page.

The Occult glyph in a birth chart denotes the special gift that you have. For Red Dragon people it is the Yellow Sun. Key words for this glyph are enlightenment and universal fire. The ocult glyph represents the magical talnet you have hidden within you. To have the glyph for enlightenment in the occult position suggests that you are enlightened on the subject of magic. To understand the meaning of the Yellow Sun in greater detail check out the Yellow Sun birth chart.

The Ally glyph symbolises your best ally. This glyph has more in common with you than any of the others and people born on these days will be natural allies to you. For Red Dragon the ally is White Mirror. The key word here are reflection of truth. Check the chart for White Mirror to get more in depth information.

The number associated with your glyph is important as it denotes your guide. Red Dragon people will differ in their behaviour if their guide is different. If you are a number one (magnetic) or number six (rhythmic) or number eleven (spectral) then you are a Red Dragon guided by Red Dragon.
To be guided by yourself makes you a stubborn and determined person. You always seem to have to figure everything out for yourself. It does make you very self-reliant but even so, sometimes you wish the answer would cometo you on a plate .

If you are a number two (lunar) or a number seven (resonant) or a number twelve (crystal) then you are guided by Red Skywalker. This glyph represents courage and exploration. The combination of the Red Dragon guided by Red Skywalker results in a person who is fiery like a dragon yet this dragon is not a stay at home type. Never in the cave this dragon would be likely out travelling to new places and trying out anything and everything. Jimi Hendrix is was a Red Skywalker and he certainly went where few people go.

If you we born with the number three (electric), eight (galactic) or thirteen (cosmic) then you would be guided by Red Serpent. These people would make good healers as serpents and dragons have both been associated with rebirth and the earth. The serpent is also a reptile like dragon. The serpent is connected to the earth because the serpent crawls on her belly, a very close connection to earth. The kundalini is the name given to the base chakra and it is often depicted as a coiled serpent This chakra is commonly linked to sex and people guided by serpent are frequently sex mad. They are blessed with the great advantage of being able to ‘shed their skin’ when it suits them They are forever renewing themselves and will often have several careers in succession.
If you are number four (self-existing) or number nine (solar), then you are guided by the Red Earth. This means you are practical and down to earth. Key words also associated with the Red Earth are synchroncity, evolution and navigation. Evolution is the point of all life forms. The earth itself is forever evolving and so are all her creatures including ourselves. We evolve by successfully overcoming our challenges. As cavemen those challenges were to find food and shelter and adapt to all climates. As spiritual beings we must strive to adapt to our modern climate. If we succeed in overcoming all the challenges that face us now we will evolve. If we don’t we shall perish. Synchroncity is another key word because there is a guiding force on this earth that helps us navigate towards our evolution. Coincidences happen in our life as clues to point us in the right direction. When you focus on personal growth, when you aspire to be a evolved being then you open yourself up to the mysteries of the universe. When something happens like a chance meeting or a coincidence, take a closer look at it,
for it may be a bit of vital information that will help you.

If you were born a number five (overtone) or number ten (planetary) you would be guided by the Red Moon. `Going with the flow’ should be the motto of people guided by this glyph. It is very natural and healthy to follow the moon. It means you’ve got a good natural rhythm going on. Another key word associated with the Red Moon is ‘purification’. People guided by the moon ought to regularly cleanse themselves. Use incense to keep your air purified and go swimming or walking in the rain more often.

Note : If you are a Red Magnetic Dragon or a Red Resonant Dragon
then you are born on a Portal day.
To find out more about how this affects you then check out the Portal day page.
