The Peacock
moon is the fifth moon of the year

November 15 -December 12
The
Peacock moon is the 5th moon of the year. The Maya called it `cutz`.
The number five is associated with the key words empowerment,
command and radiant. These charactristics affect number five days
as well as the fifth moon. This is a good moon therefore to find
your own power. The Maya saw in the sky a peacock whose tail began
at Antares which is the head of the serpent, and whose head reached
almost to Bootes. It`s eye is the star Kornephorus.
People
born under this moon will be influenced by the totem Peacock.
This creature has always been admired for it`s beauty. Most notably
it`s splendid tail. The `eyes` of the tail symbolise psychic ability
as peacock is said to use his `eyes` to see all. There is a legend
about peacock and it`s curious call. It is said that it is a vain
creature, very proud of it`s beauty, but the peacock has ugly
feet and whenever it bends down and catches sight of them he lets
out a scream. On a more serious note the peacock`s unusual call
is said to represent the cry of the soul. Always seeking joy yet
experincing anguish.

The
information about the constellations and crystals in this section
come from an out -of -print book by Hugh Harleston jnr.
`Zodiac de Maya`. This book was the only one ever printed that
named the constellations and they were based on his archelogical
findings. The interpretation of the meanings of the animals comes
from T.O`Sinend, a teacher of animal Totemnism and here on this
website is the only place anywhere that this information is available.
