| The
Monkey moon is the seventh moon of the year

January
10 - February 6
The
seventh moon of the Mayan year is the Monkey moon. The Maya called
the monkey Batz
and they saw it in the sky as a enormous constellation that dwarfed
nearby Aquarius,
Capricorn and Sagittarius.
People
born under this moon will have the characteristics of the totem
Monkey
as well as the number seven.
Seven is a resonant number and is always associated
with channelling energy. It is the moon of psychic experiences
and growth through intelligence.
Monkeys are speculated as being our ancestors. We supposed have
evolved from Monkey. How did we evolve from apes? Because we adapted
to our environment and became more clever.
In this moon, you too can evolve with your mind. Be open to spirit
and let it speak through you.
Let the universe inspire you..
The
legend of Monkey is Universal. In China, Buddha allocated one
year in every 12 to the monkey in honour of this amazing animal.
People born in the
Year of the Monkey are considered to be clever, resourceful and
communicative.
The
Hindus have a Monkey god called Hanuman. He is wise and
regarded highly as a great healer. He is a great protector of
women and children.
In
the Nazca desert in Peru , there is a giant figure of a monkey,
260 ft. long. His spiral tail representing, some believe, the
swirling galaxy.
The
Mayans certainly honoured the Monkey well, for not only has he
a moon named after him but a day in the Tzolkin as well. So it
is possible to be born a
Blue monkey in the monkey moon. The only other animals that have
both are Serpent and Dog.
People
born under monkey influence are naturally inquisitive and they
usually posses a busy mind. If you have ever watched monkeys in
a zoo, you will see
how they incessantly chatter and they are always getting into
mischief. Whether you are born under the Monkey moon or not you
can use this time to
monkey around yourself and have a bit of fun.
SACRED CRYSTAL
PEARL
The
information about the constellations and crystals in this section
come from an out -of -print book by Hugh Harleston jnr.
`Zodiac de Maya`. This book was the only one ever printed that
named the constellations and they were based on his archelogical
findings. The interpretation of the meanings of the animals comes
from T.O`Sinend, a teacher of animal Totemnism and here on this
website is the only place anywhere that this information is available.
