The
Jaguar moon is the ninth moon of the year

March 7 - April 3
The
Jaguar moon is the ninth moon of the Mayan year. The number nine
is the number of intention. Very appropriate then that the Mayans
choose this animal to rule this month , as a chief characteristic
of Jaguar is his intention. His movements are very
deliberate and accurate.
This
is the moon of precise action. The Jaguar or Balam
was a very sacred animal to the Mayans. Their leaders often depicted
wearing a Jaguar skin. The Jaguar moon begins in Pisces and overlaps
into Aries. The Mayans saw a massive Jaguar in the sky reaching
from Aquarius at his feet all the way to the M31 galaxy above
his head.
The giant constellation faced Pisces and stretched all the way
to Pegasus behind him.
People
born in this moon will share some of Jaguars powerful attributes.
They will be courageous and like the feline predator be very good
at carefully considering options before actions. They are very
charmed and lucky with money. The Mayans saw this magnificent
creature as being a profound teacher. He is ruler of the jungle
and has no enemies but man. He can swim and climb and run and
therefore is master in all dimensions. The Indians of the rain
forest said that the roar of the Jaguar was the roar of thunder.
Indian shamans saw the ability to shape shift into a Jaguar as
the ultimate test of magical powers.
You
dont have to be born in this moon to benefit from the power
of Jaguar. Use this time of year to consider carefully your actions
and then carry them out with courage. During this moon you can
re-claim your power. Practice roaring like a jaguar first thing
in the morning and carry out the intention for the rest of the
day to be as magical as the Jaguar.

The
information about the constellations and crystals in this section
come from an out -of -print book by Hugh Harleston jnr.
`Zodiac de Maya`. This book was the only one ever printed that
named the constellations and they were based on his archelogical
findings. The interpretation of the meanings of the animals comes
from T.O`Sinend, a teacher of animal Totemnism and here on this
website is the only place anywhere that this information is available.
