The Dog moon is the tenth moon of the year

April 4 - May 1

The Dog moon is the 10th moon in the Mayan year. It begins during Aries and overlaps into Taurus. In the sky the Mayans saw an enormous dog whose jaw was the constellation Traingulum, whose left paw was Aries and whose tail reached down to Cetus (Whale). The Mayans called the dog ‘Pek’. If you know where to find the Galaxy Andromeda, then Dog should
be easy to find as his head is just to the left of it.
People born under the Dog moon will have a lot of characteristics in common with Dogs. Loyalty, protectiveness and friendliness. Dogs have appeared in Myth and legend in cultures all over the world. Wherever there is man, there is dog. Naturally all cultures see the same characteristics in these animals. In Chinese astrology Buddha gave one year in every twelve in honour of the Dog. People born in the year of the dog will have a lot in common with people born under a Dog moon.
‘Love’ is the key word for Dog people. They are very affectionate and give love generously. Dog moon people can suffer from rejection too easily and like a dog with it’s tail between it’s legs, they can appear sulky.
They have the tendency to not be interested in too much deep thinking and have little curiosty. They prefer just to be loveable and happy. Have you ever seen a dog chase it’s own tail?It may not seem like the most intelligent thing to do but the dog is having fun
and enjoying life. Pleasure can be that simple. Philosophy can be fascinating, but if you want to be happy , you need to play like a puppy. Why complicate life?
But don`t underestimate a dog person, for he is`nt always the playful puupy.
He can be a vicious guard dog if someone he is loyal to is threatened.

SACRED CRYSTAL

PEARL

The information about the constellations and crystals in this section come from an out -of -print book by Hugh Harleston jnr. `Zodiac de Maya`. This book was the only one ever printed that named the constellations and they were based on his archelogical findings. The interpretation of the meanings of the animals comes from T.O`Sinend, a teacher of animal Totemnism and here on this website is the only place anywhere that this information is available.
